Coming Soon: 31 Days Series

Last week, I was on the fence.  Blog every day for 31 days straight?!  Not for me.  However, I decided (with heart racing) that I would join in the 31 Days series hosted by the Nester during the month of October.

While blogging every single day in October will be a challenge, I am looking forward to the benefits it will bring to our family and home.  Topics that have been very near to my heart over the past few months are cultivating a healthy, cozy home and creating delicious, whole food recipes (we are still taking baby steps in these areas).  But how could I share about such a broad field of topics?

I tried to wrap my mind around the perfect title for my series- something that would encompass all the aspects of my heartbeat.

I came up with this:

Homemade Living.  Whether it be the soup ladled in our bowls, the bow that adorns Zip’s head, or the sweet scribbles left on pillows,  I want to have a part in, to leave my mark on, the different facets of our lives.  To nurture our family with healthier meals, to craft beautiful and yet thrifty projects for our home and family, and to warm their hearts with little reminders of how special they are.  Why?  My first thought was, well, because I’m mom. While that is certainly true, it reaches beyond and even deeper than that maternal feeling.  It’s scope encircles not only my children but also my husband.  And the reason really is quite simple.  I love them.

Nothing says I love you like homemade.  The time, energy and thought hidden in even the smallest of gestures where your personal touch is left speaks in a language all its own.

Join me, starting Monday morning, for every day in the month of October as I leave my fingerprints of love in Homemade Living.  I will update this post with the links to all the 31 Days for your ease of enjoyment.
