Family Night

Today I’m straying from my typical “Friday Funny” and just sharing about our family night out.  We had a really good time last night together.  We made it to the portrait studio -still lookin’ good, if I do say so myself.  I hate, hate, hate running in late, in the rain and still having babies to dress.  And yes, that’s happened.  So getting there in one piece is HUGE for our family of six.

We spent some time browsing at the mall and then headed over for dinner out.  We were all starving and well, the giftcard was simply burning a hole in my pocket.

The kids were so excited and rather well behaved.  Not perfect, but then again who really is?!

We enjoyed passing my “Zoom” (Android pad) around and taking turns capturing pictures of the fam.  Most everyone gave purty smiles for the camera.  Pop did not.  He wanted to wave forks, turn around, eat, reach for the lens…you name it.  (I guess that he’d had his fill of cameras from the portrait studio.)

We don’t eat out that often, so dining in a restaurant is a BIG deal.  Add coloring sheets and chocolate milk to the combo and the girls are all smiles.  Cracker Barrel serves breakfast all day and so pancakes, well, that just was the icing on the cake.

Hubs and I found out that the next time we eat steak we’re just gonna say “burn it“.  “Well done” must be subjective.  Ha!  (Fuzz took this picture of us- not bad for a five year old.)

All in all, it was a special evening.  I felt so blessed while browsing through the new 2012 shots of our clan back at the studio.  And then again as I glanced around the table at their smiling little faces (not to mention the love of my life sitting close by my side!).  Ever have moments like those?  Precious.

And then we did what every normal person does, as they leave Cracker Barrel.  Sit in every. single. rocking chair and rock like mad.

No. Not really.

Or wait, …..did we?  😉

I agree with Leah, you guys haven’t changed a bit – just added 4 little ones to the mix. Except Heather, motherhood and marriage must agree with you cause you look more beautiful and grown up (in a good way) then ever! 🙂

can’t wait to see the pictures! 🙂

Thanks…thankfully it wasn’t a close-up. We probably have a few more lines than we did -what 9 years ago already? No gray hairs…yet.

      I definitely love M&M. 😉

Heather, you and Steve have not changed a bit from college days! 🙂 And your kids are adorable. Aren’t those family times special?! I DO have those reflective moments that you mentioned…and I’m learning to have them more often, over the little things. We are so incredibly blessed!!
