Two Pink Lines

What??!

Yes.  Baby number four is on the way.

Whew!  I’m glad that I can tell people now.  It was beginning to get difficult to hide my pudginess, my fatigue, my small size diapers in my shopping trips, my sporadic blogging, (I do apologize) etc.

(And no, the newborn diapers were purchased to be gifted BEFORE we found out about the little one.  🙂 )

It all began one dark and overcast morning.  It was June 24, 2010.  The clock read 5:30 am.  Grumble. grumble.  Who wanted to be up that early?!  Not me.

Alas, duty called.  It was Harris Teeter Super Doubles and it was/is not for the faint of heart.  I had not been in the best of moods of late and thought I’d better take a pregnancy test…just to be sure.  I was NOT worried.

I took the test and started to turn away.  Whew!  Just a little scare…we’ve had those before.  It was nothing, right?!  In my sleepy state, I looked one more time. Gasp.

Was that two pink lines????  My heart jumped …and then it stopped.  (Was that even possible?!)

My mind struggled to comprehend.  I was still nursing.  My baby girl was not even one year old yet.  My other girls were only 4 and 5.  My husband……oh my goodness, ………my husband!!  What was I gonna tell him?

(Well, I actually knew what I had to tell him, but uhhhhhhhh, how on earth was I gonna do it?!  :D)

It was a surreal moment (the second one in a year’s time).  Gulp.  Just go tell him.  I opened the bathroom door.  There he was….sleeping so peacefully.  Oh well, I knew that he’d want to know.

I told him.

We were in shock together.  We went out for dinner that night.  ( Hey I was hungry.  🙂 )

This little one was clueless to it all.  🙂

But I got over it the shock faster than he did.  Much faster.  He’s getting there though. 🙂

I will be 12 weeks on Wednesday and I am feeling GREAT.  I never really suffer with morning sickness or any other pregnancy related difficulties.  And I deliver rapidly.  So all in all, it is usually a smooth experience for us.  We are already looking forward to meeting this new addition to our family in a few more months.

We are so blessed.

I am struggling to get caught up on my sleep after pulling that all-nighter trip from visiting family.  Things should (knock on wood) begin to settle down in the next few days and I’m eager to get back into a more consistent blogging schedule.  Thank you so much for your patience and for faithfully stopping by.

By the way, I love reading your comments.  Keep them coming.  🙂
